Casa Khuyana creates the first pediatric hospice in Peru and the third in Latin America. We provide pediatric palliative care and comprehensive support to children who receive a medical terminal diagnosis and their families.
A pediatric hospice is a home where pediatric palliative care and comprehensive support is provided to children who receive a terminal medical diagnosis, so that they can live this transcendental journey in the most loving and harmonious way possible.
Pediatric palliative care covers clinical, emotional, ethical, social, and spiritual aspects for the care of children with life-threatening illnesses and seeks to accompany children and their families on such a transcendental journey for them.
In our pediatric hospice we accompany them to go through this moment in the most loving and harmonious way possible. We create opportunities to bring life to their days, loving care, well-being, play and containment, as every child should experience.

OUR STORY
Casa Khuyana was born from the vocation of its Director, Monica Pfeiffer, to care for children and their families facing terminal medical diagnoses.
Focusing on this population also responds to the absence of public policies that promote a pediatric palliative care system and a social, medical, emotional, and spiritual perspective during this transcendental journey of life.
The association was created in 2021, and in July 2022, began the construction of the first pediatric hospice in Peru in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Cusco. At the end of 2023, the final phase of construction started, getting ready to receive the first children and their families very soon.
Being a non-profit civil association, Casa Khuyana is financed entirely through donations.
Children with a terminal medical diagnosis need you now.
WHAT DO WE DO?
Our pediatric hospice
Our pediatric hospice is the first one in Peru and the third one in Latin America. The word ‘hospice’ does not even have an equivalent in Spanish.
We can accommodate up to 10 children at a time - up to 18 years old - with a terminal medical diagnosis, and their families.
Located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Cusco, our facilities on 3300 m2 of land, provide an energetic and welcoming environment.
At Casa Khuyana all services are free for the children and their families. They are financed entirely by our association, so contributions and donations from the entire community are highly important to fulfill our mission.
Our services
We seek to provide normality and well-being to the lives of children who received a terminal medical diagnosis.
We offer
- 24-hour specialized nursing
- Palliative care
- Therapies and workshops for children and their families
- Transitional home
- Support for grieving families
- Spiritual accompaniment
Your support is crucial so that children with a terminal medical diagnosis can access pediatric palliative care as their right.
